Google Web Toolkit is an exciting Web2 framework for Java.
Mike Casey presented a high-level overview of what GWT is, and how to use it. An example was presented, demonstrating how to build a basic page. Further examples showed some end products the speaker has been working on recently.

Mike graduated with Honours in Software Engineering from Victoria university in 2006. Since then he has been a J2EE developer at the IRD and Westpac.
He is also a web2.0 entrepreneur who is currently working on two projects using GWT. The first is an HR company website that uses wizards to collect information from graduates for recruitment. The second is a demand based ticketing system calculations are performed to see if concerts are viable in different cities around the world.
